TESTIMONIALS FOR KINGFISHER COURT

When my mum came into Kingfisher Court care home in April for respite care you wouldn’t believe how pleasant and friendly everyone was. My mum felt like she was in a hotel. She could do what she wanted when she wanted. She was treated with dignity and respect at all times. My mum never stops talking about all the care staff, how nice and pleasant they are.

Today I visited my auntie, I arrived at lunchtime so thought I would have had to wait or come back later but the deputy manager said I could have lunch too. We ate in the ‘English Tea Room’ which was lovely. The kitchen staff made a range of sandwiches and 6 different mini cakes. My auntie seems to be very happy and well looked after. All the staff are really nice.

Amazing home. My grandmother is finally settled and happy again. All the staff are wonderful and treat my grandmother like she is their own. Its been nice to spend time doing things with my grandmother like planting flowers in the garden room, watching a movie in the beautiful cinema or just sitting having a nice cup of tea and some lunch in the tea room instead of just sitting in her room. The food is great and I know this because I have been allowed to have dinner there on several occasions. While looking for a suitable home for my grandmother, me and my mum visited all the homes in the Sutton and Mansfield area and had actually given up looking as there wasn’t any that we felt were suitable or that we thought she would be happy at. We then decided to go to the open day at Kingfisher Court and as soon as we were welcomed through the front doors we knew we had finally found somewhere. Kingfisher Court is in a league of its own in every department.

I have been overwhelmed at the kindness my mother has received since going into this home she has been in several other homes for respite care but she never felt she could settle else where. The home and staff are amazing here and personal care has been carried out with dignity. Every member of staff are kind and thoughtful from the bottom to the top all having time to speak to her and me at any time of the day or night. All of mum’s family are welcomed to the home as they are when mum was at home this means a lot to us all. The food is amazing the chef is interested in the people she serves and this shows.

Spent a long time looking for the right home for my mother when I stumbled upon Kingfisher Court whilst eating at the restaurant next door. As soon as you walk in you are greeted by smiles and warmth. My mother has been in for 3 weeks now and she is happy and settled.

I sat and watched the home being built from the foundations, I watched it grow into the beautiful home it is today. My daughter contacted Oakdale Care Group to ask when the home would be opening and was told by a very friendly member of staff that they were having an open weekend so I booked in to have a tour at 11am on Easter Sunday.

I have spent time in other care homes in the area but after my visit I fell in love with it straight away and couldn’t wait to move. A great deal of thought has gone into the building from the pictures on the wall down to the luxury facilities. I was greeted with a warm welcome by all the lovely staff and was made to feel at home straight away, on my first morning I was treated to an afternoon of pampering in the salon from head to toe, followed by an evening in the cinema.

The home manager Paul and the owners Andrew and Chris are always available and are very approachable. I would recommend Kingfisher Court to anyone, I think its wonderful!

What more can I say; I was so impressed. Fantastic staff who really care. If ever there was a care home to recommend to anyone this is the one! It’s not a care home its a real home from home. It’s more than 5 stars rating.

Ian H

What a fantastic environment. Friendly staff, very well presented building and facilities. I wish I could put more into words on how impressed I am with this establishment.

After looking at many homes in the area, we are so glad we found this one. If a certain premium lager could do nursing homes they would be like this!

Staff are fantastic and the home is first class, it’s like a 5-star hotel for the elderly. All day there are things for the residents to do to keep active. Each visit the staff welcome you and will give you an update on how things are going. Hairdresser on site and even a cinema.

If you live around the area and have a loved one who needs care this is the place. We are so pleased with the care he is given, food is restaurant quality, the dining area is better than most restaurants I have been in.

I can recommend Kingfisher Court care home to look after your loved one. Go visit to see just how good it is.
They even post daily pictures on Facebook so you can see your loved one having fun and that really makes a difference to be able to check on them when you cannot visit. 5* plus

This is the third care home that my Mum has stayed in and it is by the far the best. It is wonderful, a real home from home. The rooms are wonderful, all en-suite and with their own fridges to keep all those little treats fresh.

My Mum is beautifully cared for all the time and even has the option of a shower every morning (as was her routine at home) although it now involves major assistance from two carers.

A major advantage is that Mum can now easily attend physio as she is taken by disabled taxi and the whole outing is just an hour a half, a far cry from the six-hour stints when she travelled by hospital transport. I visit two or three times a week and the first question from the staff, who are very much in evidence, is ‘Do you want a coffee?’. Then ‘Are you stopping for lunch?’ This week we had a formal evening meal with Mum at a pop-up restaurant – just wonderful and all included.

My mother has been a resident at Kingfisher Court since May 2017 and our whole family are extremely pleased with the excellent care mum receives. Her life has been transformed by the companionship she now has with fellow residents. She loves the many and varied activities on offer at the home and is particularly pleased that she is taken to church on Sundays.

The atmosphere at the home is extremely friendly; we are treated as family and always feel welcome. The staff are all excellent, they are aware of and maintain, their professional boundaries and treat our mum with the love and respect she deserves.

The ‘all inclusive’ terms provide us with peace of mind; no unexpected additional costs each month, yet we feel the quality of the provision is exceptional, the person-centred approach to mum’s care is so important to her wellbeing and state of mind.

The home is beautifully designed and scrupulously clean. The food is delicious and the menus are often chosen by residents.

Helen DDaughter of resident

This is an amazing care home, so good that I can’t believe my luck in finding it. Mum was well looked after physically in her other care home but in this one, she is constantly stimulated with new ideas and activities. Everyone has so much time for her, it is so well staffed.
The facilities, building, wide corridors, cinema etc… are fantastic but would be irrelevant without the fantastic people they have working there. Everyone knows everyone ie staff and residents.
Housekeeping staff, maintenance staff, catering staff all get involved with not just their main job but with residents, their families and other activities too.

It’s so good, you won’t be able to believe it by just what I’m writing so if you’re looking for somewhere special just pay them a visit. The owners are two fantastic guys who get to know everyone personally and are so hands on – it’s just so great – it took one of them a while though to sort out where mum had gone wrong in her jigsaw but he got there.
